Administration

The City of Hill City operates under an aldermanic form of government with a Mayor and four Common Council members.  In addition, a City Administrator is on appointed by the Mayor to implement the policy decisions of the elected body and work on various city infrastructure projects.  The City Administrator is appointed for a two year term that coincides with the election of Mayor.  Two other appointed positions also exist to address any engineering and legal items.  Annually, a City Engineer and a City attorney are appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the Common Council.

Projects

Infrastructure is key to a successful city. Projects include water, wastewater, storm drains, park improvements, road paving, gravel road replacement and updating of existing facilities.
